12/03/2008 - 'Natale in Laguna' (Christmas in the Lagoon)
Also this year Venice will organise one of the most charming Christmas markets, namely the 'Natale in Laguna' in Campo Santo Stefano: inaugurated on the 29th November, it will open every day from 10.30 am to 7.30 pm until the 23rd December
The stunning Venetian scenery will be enriched by the cosy Christmas decorations of 'Natale in Laguna', the traditional Venetian Christmas market.
In the wooden huts of the Christmas village, the exhibitors - selected by the trade association Confartigianato Venezia to guarantee the quality of the products on sale - will be offering a variety of hand-made gift items to residents and tourists: glassware and pottery, antique parchments, costume jewellery, soaps, perfumes, spices and natural fragrances, toys, crèches, wooden objects, frames and lamp shades.
The Christmas village will also serve traditional Italian food and visitors will have a chance to taste and buy food and wine from a number of Italian regions. Many events will be staged in the area, including outdoor concerts and a playground for children.
The traditional Venetian Christmas market has been organised by Confartigianato Venezia, with the support of the Venice Chamber of Commerce, Venezi@Opportunità, the City of Venice, the Province of Venice, Casinò Municipale di Venezia, Cassa di Risparmio di Venezia, Assicurazioni Generali – Venice branch, Veritas Energia, Insula, Confidi Veneziano, Asm, Edilvenezia and Hello Venezia.
